Hi, I'm Ms Rachel Kok.

In 2011, I graduated from Singapore Management University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Management, double majoring in Finance and Corporate Communications.

For six years, I worked in a corporate setting while volunteering as a Sunday school teacher and with ReadAble, a reading programme for underprivileged children. It was during my time at ReadAble that I discovered my passion for teaching and helping children reach their full potential in both academic and personal growth.

I began my teaching journey as a TLL teacher before moving on to teach my own classes and becoming a partner at Articulate Ink Education, where I work alongside a dedicated team of educators. Since then, I've taught students from Primary One to Primary Six, and having seen many batches graduate, I've gained real confidence in what it takes to be a successful learner in Singapore's education system.

Light Years Education was my first initiative, created to be a guiding light in students' academic journeys. At its core is a belief in consistent practice, strong habits, and calm confidence — the foundations of PSLE success.

My teaching approach incorporates real-life applications by integrating current societal issues, fostering empathy, resourcefulness, and resilience in my students to prepare them for an ever-changing world. During my time at Singapore Management University, I served as President of the Students' Association in 2009 — an experience that helped me cultivate the communication and leadership skills I hope to impart to my students. My goal is for every student to see English not just as a subject, but as a crucial medium of communication and a tool for expressing their creativity and individuality.
